Edging And Securing Artificial Turf

As artificial grass is commonly used in such a wide variety of options, there are different ways to secure the turf to a particular surface. The two most common ways to secure turf to the edges of area will either use landscape nails or a perimeter board system.

Landscape Nails

Purchase Green offers both 5″ and 6″ nails to secure turf. These long, galvanized nails are placed around the perimeters and seams. Purchase Green carries both of these lengths at a variety of quantities.

Nailer Board Systems

Purchase Green recommends using a nailer board system when possible to secure the edges of your project. Purchase Green offers two sizes of nailer board – Bend-A-Board and Bend-A-Board Perimeter. Working in conjunction with nailer board systems are our 12″ Mendocino Stakes or J Stakes to help hold both the turf and the perimeter board in place.

Nailer board systems are typically best for a longer lasting application, especially in climates where there is a lot of expansion of contraction due to weather changes. This is also the recommended product for any application with high traffic areas, and for applications with children and pets.
