People with pets shouldn’t use artificial grass.
Not true. All of our grasses and products are environmentally-sustainable, eco-friendly and safe for both pets and people.

If your pets will be using the restroom on the grass, you simply need to incorporate a pet system to appropriate drainage during the initial installation of your grass.

The pet system includes:

  • Envirofill treated with Microban to break down the ammonia in urine
  • Silica sand to hold moisture and odor
  • Drainage mats to reduce odor build-up
  • Raised columns to create space so that while liquid waste is draining, it’s not in constant contact with backings

From there, solid waste is removed the same way it is for natural lawns, and occasional hose downs will wash away any remnants of liquid waste. Generally speaking, lower face-weight grasses are better for pets because the less-dense face makes it easier for liquid waste to pass through.

Purchase Green offers two products that work wonders if your pets will be urinating on the grass: Turf Cleaner and Turf Bomb. Both are based on a bio-enzymatic cleaning agent that eats away at odor-causing bacteria. Turf Bomb has an additional odor masking agent, so urine smells are reduced while the enzyme agents eat the bacteria.
